ESBD Field Test Sites
Earth Science by Design is a program of professional development for teachers of Earth science created by TERC and the American Geological Institute, and funded by the National Science Foundation.
The following sites field tested the Earth Science by Design program during the 2004-2005 school year. Each site conducted a two-week institute for middle school teachers in the summer of 2004 and worked with those teachers throughout the school year as they implemented new teaching methods in their classrooms.

- Oakland County Schools OSMTech Center, Waterford, MI
- Pioneer Ridge Science Center & Science Pioneers, Kansas City, MO
- Plymouth State University, Plymouth, NH
- San Diego County Office of Education-LRET/SCIENCE, San Diego, CA
- Tucson Unified School District, Tucson, AZ
The following sites offered the ESBD program for high school teachers of Earth Science during the 2005-2006 school year, beginning with a two-week teacher institute in the summer of 2005.
